Acquisition
Every manuscript is read by a commissioning editor and assessed on the author's direct experience of the subject, the durability of the argument, and whether the book gives a reader something to do differently. We do not charge authors to publish, and we do not accept paid placement in our catalog.
Editing and review
- Developmental edit — structure, argument, and evidence.
- Line and copy edit — clarity, accuracy of claims, and consistency.
- Proofread against the typeset proof before release.
- Named editor accountable for each title from acquisition to publication.
Fact-checking and sourcing
Statistics, quotations, and case studies must be attributable to a named, checkable source. Where a claim rests on the author's own practice, we say so in the text rather than presenting it as research.
Use of AI
Our books are written by named human authors. AI tools may assist with research, indexing, or drafting marketing copy, but every published sentence is reviewed and approved by a human editor. We disclose AI involvement wherever it is material to the work.
Advertising and independence
Site revenue comes from book sales and Amazon affiliate commissions, disclosed on our Affiliate Disclosure page. Commercial relationships never determine coverage, ranking, or recommendation.
Corrections
